This past Saturday we attended the Taste of Kingston event to further educate the local Kingston community about sustainable housing as part of our SolarJourney initiative. We brought our Corner Model of Sustainability and used it to showcase some of the latest products in green building. We also had the opportunity to chat with a couple homeowners about our upcoming unveiling event for the Solar Demonstration Home.
In order to teach kids about solar power, we had a lego ferris wheel hooked up to a small solar panel. Luckily, it was an extremely sunny day, so our ferris wheel was spinning quite fast and attracting a lot of attention from kids. This gave us the opportunity to explain how solar energy powers the motor, which ultimately spins the ferris wheel.
Overall, the food was delicious and we enjoyed talking to Kingstonians about our initiatives!
